Frenchman is contracted to the club until 2018.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are understood to be interested in signing Newcastle United right-back Mathieu Debuchy next season, according to reports on talkSPORT.co.uk.
The Bavarian giants are said to currently be on the look out for a new right back, with head coach Pep Guardiola not convinced by the qualities of current right-back Rafinha.
As a result, the Uefa Champions League holders are understood to be lining up a shock end of season swoop for the Magpies’ France international, who has only been at St James’ Park now for a little over a year.
Debuchy was signed by Newcastle manager Alan Pardew last January from Ligue 1 outfit Lille on a five and a half year deal for a fee of just £5.5m.
And in the intervening period, the 28-year-old has proved to be one of the north east giants’ most consistent performers, with the attacking full back having managed to find the back of the net once in his 47 matches in all competitions for his new team, which came in one of his 38 Premier League outings for the club.
However, with a contract at St James’ that runs until 2018, Bayern may find it hard to sign Debuchy.
