Sunderland Target Tottenham Full-Back

Black Cats chase White Hart Lane wide-man.

Sunderland are keen on signing Tottenham wide-man Kyle Naughton according to Football Direct News.

The Black Cats are looking to improve their defensive options and boss Gus Poyet wants to bring in 25 year old full-back Naughton, who has played as both left and right-back this term.

Naughton has struggled to secure a regular first team spot at White Hart Lane and has had to battle Danny Rose and Kyle Walker for roles on left and right respectively, making just eight Premier League starts in the process so a move to the Stadium of Light may interest the former Sheffield United man.

Sunderland are battling against relegation but if Poyet keeps the club in the Premier League then he may well lure Naughton to the north-east, especially if the club manages to defeat Man City in this weekend’s Capital One Cup final, thus securing Europa League football for next term.
