Goodison Park side want Man City man on long term deal.
Everton will look to lure Man City midfielder Gareth Barry into making his temporary move to Goodison Park a permanent one according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 33 year old has been in excellent form this season, enjoying the regular first team action the Toffees can clearly offer him, and the England man will be a free agent in the summer leading to the Man City man looking into possible long term options at the end of the current campaign.
Barry has started 23 of Everton’s 28 Premier League fixtures this season and Roberto Martinez is ready to offer the experienced midfielder a three year contract worth around £50k a week, which would represent a sizable reduction on his current Man City salary.
However a long term deal may well lead to Barry being open to a pay-cut, indeed he may feel that the regular first team action could offer him a surprise return to the England national team set-up.
