Tottenham were linked with a move for the Belgian last summer but, after handing in a transfer request, Benteke quickly had a change of heart and signed a new deal with Aston Villa. The powerful 23-year-old has not hit the same heights this season as last but still boasts nine league goals and he would surely improve on that total with service from the likes of Andros Townsend and Christian Eriksen. Roberto Soldado remains a fan-favourite at White Hart Lane but the Spaniard has had a dismal season, so Sherwood should look to Bentekkers to provide competition and a partner for Emmanuel Adebayor.
