The Ukrainian winger came within a whisker of joining Liverpool on January transfer deadline day but Dnipro’s chairman has since claimed he is in advanced talks with Spurs with a view to a summer transfer. Sherwood has played down the club’s interest but Spurs have been weakest down their left flank this season, with number 10 Christian Eriksen frequently filling in. Konoplyanka and a fully fit and in-form Erik Lamela either side of the Dane is suddenly looking like a tasty attacking midfield triumvirate.
