The 25 year old New Zealand international has been hugely impressive when fit this term and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce may struggle to keep hold of the defender if the White Hart Lane side come calling.

A run of seven defeats in nine Premier League fixtures have seen West Ham sink down the table and whilst safety from the drop is practically guaranteed the Kiwi may be tempted by a move to Tottenham, not least if Tim Sherwood’s side secure a Europa League berth.

Tottenham have struggled at the back, not least against top opposition, and Jan Vertonghen, Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul have been found wanting and it’s no surprise that Spurs would be considering fresh defensive additions this summer.
