The 27 year old has been in fine form at Newcastle United this term and is a player very much in demand and it appears that the White Hart Lane side are set to beat their local rivals Arsenal in a race to capture the French international.

Spurs chairman is ready to meet QPR’s £15m valuation and will look to complete a deal prior to the World Cup finals where Remy is likely to feature as part of Didier Deschamps’ squad.

Remy has scored 14 Premier League goals this term and could be the man to help boost Tottenham’s ailing attack though one imagines Levy will look to balance the books by offloading one, or both, of his failed summer striker purchases just so long as any interested parties are willing to pay a decent sum for either Erik Lamela or Roberto Soldado.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew would no doubt love to keep hold of Remy but the recent run of form the Magpies have gone through may well lead to the former Marseille man looking for a move to London.
