The Toffees have utilised the loan market commendably this season bringing a number of stars on loan for the campaign to help them secure a spot in the Europa League.
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku was one of those names linking up at Goodison Park on a short term deal. He impressed by bagging himself 16 goals in 33 appearances, though he has now returned to Stamford Bridge where he will likely lead their line.
With Everton resigned to losing the prolific 21-year-old, Martinez has been on the lookout for potential signings upfront this summer, with Swansea City’s Wilfried Bony also emerging as a possible target.
However, Martinez has not ruled out making another dip into the loan market to fill the void left by the powerful Belgian international as a source close to the club reveals that Milan’s M’Baye Niang could be one such option.
Niang made a bright start to his career at the San Siro, but spent the second half of the current campaign on loan at Ligue 1 side Montpellier, where he notched himself four goals. And he could be in line for another short term exit as he faces a tough battle to get back into the Milan squad.
