The south coast club are understood to already be preparing for life at St Mary’s without their highly rated young trainer this summer, despite recently holding a number of face-to-face meetings with Pochettino in order to try and persuade the Argentinian to remain with them going forward.
However, it now seems highly likely that the former Espanyol trainer will be moving to White Hart Lane this summer to replace Sherwood, who was relieved of his managerial duties at the north London club earlier this week, although Pochettino is also said to be mulling over offers from the likes of both Marseille and Valencia too at present.
And the man that Southampton are pondering to be their next boss is Sherwood, with the ex-Spurs midfielder known for giving youth its chance after having previously worked as the head of the Tottenham academy, a factor that appeals to the Saints board.
