Playmaker has a contract in the north west until 2017.
Premier League champions Manchester City have no intention whatsoever of allowing star man Yaya Toure to leave Eastlands this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The giant Ivory Coast international’s future at Eastlands is in some doubt following the player’s claims earlier this week that he wanted to leave the north west after City officials failed to wish him happy birthday on a recent trip to Abu Dhabi.
“He got a cake but when it was Roberto Carlos’ birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti [sports car],” said Dimitri Seluk. “I don’t expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said, ‘We congratulate you.’
“The club’s owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday. It shows they don’t care about him. None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It’s really sick.
“If this happened to you as a journalist in the BBC and nobody shakes your hand, you will say bye-bye and go to work for somebody else. It is normal.”
However, it is understood that City will block any attempts by the player to quit the club when the summer transfer window reopens for business, as the club also previously did with former striker Carlos Tevez, and will instead hold the 31-year-old to his £250,000-per-week contract that still has three more years left to run on it.
