Highly rated young Southampton head coach Mauricio Pochettino looks like turning down the advances of Tottenham Hotspur in order to remain with the south coast club next season instead, according to reports in the Metro.

The north London club are understood to have made the Argentinian their number one choice to take over from the recently sacked Tim Sherwood in the White Hart Lane hot seat next season.
So much so, in fact, that Tottenham are understood to have even offered Pochettino a lucrative contract worth £3m a season in order to move to the capital this summer.
However, after lengthy face-to-face talks between Pochettino and his advisers and Southampton, it is now believed that the South American is set to turn down the approach from Spurs to carry on the brilliant job he has done so far at St Mary’s.
Pochettino replaced former boss Nigel Adkins at the club last January and managed to guide Southampton to a 13th-place finish, while in the previous campaign the former Espanyol manager led the Saints to an eighth-place finish.
