Samir Nasri hasn’t had to dwell on his disappointment at being left out of the France squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, with his club manager Manuel Pellegrini set to show his faith by tying up a new five-year deal with Nasri.

The Manchester Evening News have reported that Nasri is all set to ink the deal as soon as he returns home from a summer holiday, with several other City players including Joe Hart and Edin Dzeko set to follow suit.

Nasri hit the headlines recently when he was left out of the France squad by Didier Deschamps, with his girlfriend causing controversy after a foul-mouthed rant on Twitter directed at the national team’s boss.

He appears to be more appreciated at the Etihad Stadium, where Nasri has flourished as one of the key members of Pellegrini’s expansive team, repaying the Chilean’s faith with the decisive opening goal in the win over West Ham United that secured the 2014 Premier League title.
