White Hart Lane boss chases Argentine.
Tottenham are sizing up an offer for Inter Milan playmaker Ricardo Alvarez according to the Metro.
Incoming White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino has begun drawing up a list of summer transfer targets and has requested that sporting director Franco Baldini brings in the 26 year old Argentine international.
The former Velez Sarsfield player has spent three seasons at the San Siro and had an excellent campaign last term but has rejected the offer of a new contract and could be open to a move to north London.
The versatile Inter Milan star is a player who could offer more guile and attacking verve to the Spurs midfield and Pochettino is ready to table an £8m bid for the 26 year old’s services.
Having failed in their pursuit of a top four finish, which effectively led to the sacking of Tim Sherwood, chairman Daniel Levy is expected to hand Pochettino a decent level of transfer funding though he is unlikely to offer anywhere near the £110m he invested in the squad last summer.
