Upton Park side target Liberty Stadium ace.
Check in to Australia vs Spain
West Ham will look to strengthen their attack with a move for Swansea City forward Michu according to Canal+.
Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce will look to improve on his attacking options this summer and having already spent £7.5m on Senegalese centre-back Cheikhou Kouyaté is would appear that the east London club’s co-owners are ready to trust in the under-fire manager with a decent sized transfer war-chest.
The 28 year old Spaniard had an excellent first season at Swansea City, netting 22 goals in all competitions, and earned a first ever call-up to senior national team set-up.
Michu’s second season in south Wales proved less effective and the former Celta Vigo and Rayo Vallecano man may therefore be open to a fresh challenge.
West Ham’s main goal-scoring outlet, England man Andy Carroll, managed just two goals last term and as such the Hammers could well do with an injection of quality in the final third and Michu would no doubt be the type of stylish acquisition that would go down well with the club’s fan-base.
