Brendan Rodgers is right to pursue Spanish international Moreno as a long term replacement for injured and ineffective first choice starter Jose Enrique but currently the Liverpool boss is not keen on meeting Sevilla’s £20m asking price.
Funds from a Suarez sale would clearly make such an option more amenable and the 21 year old once again ticks the ‘youthful transfer policy’ and ‘immediate impact’ boxes with some aplomb.
Such a move would leave Rodgers free to move John Flanagan to his preferred position on the right, where he is superior to inconsistent regular Glen Johnson.
Moreno had a fine season last term, helping Sevilla to a Europa League triumph and only just missing out on a spot in Vicente del Bosque’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
