New Barca coach Luis Enrique took over at the club last month and told the Cameroon star that he is no longer needed at the Nou Camp and is free to find a move elsewhere over the summer.
Having already lost Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea, Enrique has replaced him with Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic, and is thought to be in the hunt for more recruits as the summer progresses.
And according to reports from Italy, Song could be the latest man to leave as Enrique seeks to release funds for further investment.
Song has already been linked with moves to Premier League sides such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, but could be in line to snub a return to England in order to ply his trade in Serie A instead.
The San Siro club are desperate to add strength and quality to their squad after a dismal campaign which saw them finish fifth in Serie A.
