Joachim Low predicts Germany domination

Germany manager Joachim Low has been in confident mood ahead of his team’s World Cup final showdown against Argentina on Sunday night, claiming that the Germans could be set for a period of footballing world domination:

“We have young players who aren’t even here and other players with a fantastic future such as Ilkay Gundogan, Marco Reus, Mesut Ozil, Andre Schurrle and Thomas Muller.”

“They can go on to play for a number of years. We can play on top of the world for a good number of years, with some young players coming in to reinforce the team.”

Low was also keen to reinforce the fact that his side have the chance to make history in Rio de Janeiro by becoming the first European team to lift the trophy on South American soil:

“In the past we have never had this. Latin Americans, on this continent, have dominated all the time. So why not? This could be an additional joy for us if we were to win as Europeans on Latin American soil.”
