Etihad Stadium side to welcome in FC Porto defender.
Man City will reportedly complete their long awaited signing of centre-back Eliaqium Mangala withing 48 hours according to the Daily Mail.
The move will cost the Etihad Stadium side £32m and will see the Premier League title holders secure their second FC Porto capture of the summer, with French international reuniting with his former team-mate Fernando who made his move to Man City earlier this summer.
Manuel Pellegrini would have been looking to bring in a solid centre-back partner for captain Vincent Kompany with Mangala a long term replacement for veteran Argentine Martín Demichelis who is clearly in the latter stages of his career.
Mangala has impressed a great deal since moving to Portugal back in 2011, helping the club to two domestic title successes before seeing his side surrender their title to Benfica last term, which in turn may have hastened him to a Estádio do Dragao exit.
Mangala’s form led to a spot in Didier Deschamps’ 2014 World Cup squad.
