Manchester City are set to persuade captain Vincent Kompany to commit his future to club by offering him a new six-year deal worth a whopping £65m, according to The Sun.

The deal will see the 27-year-op pick up around £200,000 per week as they look to him to continue his successful reign for the foreseeable future.
With the current Premier League champions on the verge of bringing young Frenchman Eliaquim Mangala in from Porto, this would represent a massive show of confidence to club captain Kompany, tacitly telling him that he’s still the main man.
Many also believe that Kompany will act as a mentor to Mangala and guide him through his first early steps into life in the Premier League.
Kompany joined City from Bundersliga giants Hamburg back in 2008, and has gone on to make 244 appearances and 12 goals.
He led the club to their second Premier League title last term and should he pen the new proposed deal he will tie his future to the Citizens until the ripe old age of 34.
