Premier League champions have offered Argentine a new deal at Eastlands.
Manchester City have offered a new contract to striker Serguio Aguero, and are hopeful that the Argentina will sign the £210,000 per week deal before the start of the new Premier League season, report the Daily Mail.
City’s prime source of goals since he signed from Atletico Madrid three years ago, Aguero is poised to pen the deal that would make him one of the Premier League’s most highly paid players.
Already a hero on the blue side of Manchester for his winning goal against Queens Park Rangers that secured the 2011/12 Premier League title for City, tying down down Aguero is seen as a key part of Manchester City’s immediate plans for the future.
Captain Vincent Kompany and goalkeeper Joe Hart are also about to open negotiations, as the club look to tie down the vital cogs of their Premier League winning team.
Aguero is particularly important, however, with world class strikers who are able to adapt to the Premier League with the ease that he did a very hard commodity to find.
Despite struggling with injuries last season, City expected Aguero to be fit and ready to go for the new Premier League campaign, despite his run to the World Cup final with Argentina.
