Manchester City are set to allow young striker Devante Cole leave the club on a loan deal, report the Mirror, with SPL side Motherwell keen to take the player on a short term move.

Cole, the son of former Manchester United and England legend Andy, is said to be consulting with his father about the prospective switch to join Stuart McCall’s side after they watched him in action for United’s reserve side recently.

The player is seen as a genuinely exciting prospect for the future by City, with his explosive pace and useful finishing ability making him a potentially exceptional forward.

A loan move would seem to be the next logical step in the player’s career, with Stuart McCall having forged a reputation for developing talented young players whilst at Motherwell in recent seasons, as the Steelmen made inroads at the top of the SPL.

Having proven his ability to score against other youth teams whilst with City’s youth development squad, proving that he can score goals in a senior league such as the SPL would go a long way to helping Cole to establish himself in the thoughts of the management team at Eastlands.
