Mateo Musacchio’s future to be decided.

Tottenham Hotspur will learn the fate of their £17 million interest in Villarreal centre back Mateo Musacchio this week, report the Express, with the La Liga club hopeful of keeping hold of their most prized asset.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the highly-rated Musacchio for much of the summer, with reports in Spain suggesting that £17m will be enough to lure the Argentinian to White Hart Lane.
Musacchio has made more than 100 appearances for the Yellow Submarine since moving to La Liga from River Plate back home, establishing himself as one of the division’s finest young central defenders, despite Villarreal’s fall from prominence on the continental stage.
New Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, has largely been frustrated in his attempts to add significant strength to his squad – although the performance of Eric Dier, signed from Sport Lisbon, during their opening day victory at West Ham United may persuade him that funds are better invested in other areas of the pitch than the back line.
With Morgan Schneiderlin, also a reported target for Pochettino, looking set to stay at Southampton, however, time is running out for Spurs to secure a summer signing that shows that they really mean business for the new season.
