Everton are still hoping to sign one more striker before the end of the summer transfer window, with manager Roberto Martinez set to choose from one of three main targets upfront.
The Toffees have already spent big on bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer, with the young Belgian giving the Toffees an exciting-looking attack as they look to build on their impressive fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Still, their spending may not be over just yet, with more big names and established Premier League stars on Martinez’s list as the summer transfer window approaches its end.
3) Samuel Eto’o (Unattached)
According to the Times, Everton manager Martinez has not ruled out a move to sign former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o on a free transfer. The Cameroon international was recently linked strongly with Liverpool, though that move appears to have fallen through as the Reds close in on the £16m signing of AC Milan star Mario Balotelli. Eto’o scored 12 goals during a one-year stay at Stamford Bridge last term, and could still have one more season in him at the top level, looking a potentially smart piece of business due to his availability on a free.
