Manchester United are reported to have failed with a late attempt to sign highly-rated Barcelona youngster Adama Traore on transfer deadline day, according to talkSPORT.
The Red Devils had a busy end to the summer, bringing in big names such as Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Daley Blind in the final few days of the transfer window, and it has now emerged that another big talent could have made the move to Old Trafford.
Traore, an 18-year-old winger who has come through Barcelona’s famed La Masia youth academy, is supposedly happy to have stayed at the Nou Camp to continue his development, and may find himself part of the first-team setup this season under new manager Luis Enrique.
The Barca boss has made a number of changes to his squad this summer, selling a number of big names and handing opportunities to promising young players such as Rafinha and Munir El Haddadi.
Although there is plenty of competition for places in attack for Barcelona, Traore’s superb pace and dribbling make him another of the club’s outstanding young talents, and his potential has been noticed by other Premier League sides as well, such as Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City.
