Check in to Arsenal vs Manchester City

Man City are reportedly readying a £25m bid for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus according to the Manchester Evening News.

The 25 year old German international has been heavily linked with interest from Arsenal but Man City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain is looking to win the race to capture the Westfalenstadion star.

There are however some injuruy doubts the Etihad Stadium side may want to take into consideration, with the former Borussia Monchengladbach suffering an ankle injury against Scotland on Sunday night.

Reus missed this summer’s World Cup finals due to a similar injury.

Manuel Pellegrini may well feel that Reus could operate in a role behind his star studded attack and the Borussia Dortmund man is player of real quality who could be considering his options if his side fails to secure a major trophy in 2014/15.

When Reus moved to Borussia Dortmund he was joining a side that had won back to back Bundesliga titles however Jurgen Klopp’s side have now fallen a country mile behind domestic rivals Bayern Munich, and this fact hasn’t been helped by the loss of Robert Lewandowski who moved to the Allianz Arena on a free transfer this summer.

Reus has scored 43 goals in 92 appearances since moving to Dortmund in July 2012.
