According to French media source AS, who are referenced by Goal.com, Madrid will renew their interest in Lavezzi, and will rival any potential bid from Liverpool in January.

The Reds are also believed to be tracking the World Cup star following suggestions that the player is growing frustrated with his lack of first-team action for the Ligue 1 giants.

Lavezzi was most recently linked with Brendan Rodgers’ side by the Daily Mirror on Tuesday.  They stated that the highly-rated former Napoli star could be ready for a move, with Anfield touted as his most likely destination.

In addition, the Daily Express revealed that the 29-year-old’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2016, and is yet to agree an extension with the Parisian side, meaning they are desperate to sell rather than lose the player on a free at the end of the season.

Lavezzi has played 90 times for PSG, scoring 23 goals in 90 games while providing 18 assists.
