Serbian international on St James’ Park radar.
Newcastle United are keen on Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic according to the Daily Mirror.
The 20 year old Serbian is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and his late equalizer against Arsenal earlier this month will certainly have brought him to the attention of a number of prospective suitors.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew has seen summer signing Ayoze Perez impress since his arrival at St James’ Park but is still looking to bring in a fresh striking option and Mitrovic could apparently be nabbed for as little as £5m despite being tied down to a long term contract at his Brussels side.
Mitrovic netted 16 goals in his debut season in Belgium and has already racked up 11 goals in 20 appearances this term and would surely be tempted by a Premier League switch.
Newcastle United started the season poorly but a run of four successive wins has seen the club move up to eighth.
