St James’ Park side chase big-money forward.
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has set his sights on highly rated Anderlecht forward Aleksandar Mitrovic as he seeks to boost his attacking options according to the Daily Mail.
The 20 year old Serbian international is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and has a £15m price-tag and given the Magpies strong start to the season perhaps owner Mike Ashley is ready to back such a move.
Pardew has been overly reliant on Papiss Cisse for an end product this term though new signing Ayoze Perez has certainly impressed.
Cisse has netted seven Premier League goals, including a brace against Chelsea on the weekend, despite making just four starts and Pardew is looking to Mitrovic to further aid their push to retain a foothold at the upper end of the Premier League table.
Mitrovic bagged 16 goals in his first season in the Belgian capital and has already racked up a dozen goals in all competitions this term and has the physical presence to blossom in the English top tier.
