The Swiss international, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United in the past, is unhappy after failing to nail down a regular starting spot at the German club and has been looking to leave since the summer.

Reports in the Daily Star confirm that Shaqiri is in talks with the Serie A giants over a move to Turin, while the source suggests that the 23-year-old will join on loan with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola recently tried to downplay speculation over the Swiss international’s future. When asked about Shaqiri and team-mate Emile Hjoberg’s future’s at the club, he said: “I think they will stay. If they want something then they need to speak to Matthias Sammer.”

But the World Cup star, who scored a hat-trick for Switzerland against Honduras this summer, has seemingly set his heart on moving, and will push through a switch early next month.
