The Ivory Coast international, who has been in fine form in front of goal this season, is being strongly linked with an imminent move to the Etihad Stadium as the Premier League champions seek reinforcements upfront after injuries to the likes of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko.
Bony could be an ideal signing for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who have found themselves short of quality options upfront in recent games as they look to conclude their first piece of business this January.
It is expected that the 26-year-old will cost around £27m, but Monk says there may still be a few details to be ironed out before the move can be finalised.
Speaking after his side’s game against West Ham United, Monk said: “It’s still ongoing, the same as the start of the week. I think the two clubs are talking to each other, trying to finalise the matters, so it’s still ongoing at this moment and until it’s 100 per cent finalised there’s nothing else I can really say.”
