Tottenham Hotspur’s Capital One Cup journey continues tonight when Sheffield United visit White Hart Lane for the first instalment of a two-legged semi-final.
Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino is expected to name a strong XI, although some stars are likely to be given rests.
Here’s how we reckon Pochettino’s side will lineup against the League One Blades:
GK: Michel Vorm
Vorm has yet to feature for Spurs in the Premier League, but he has played every minute of Tottenham’s domestic cup games so far this season.
RB: Eric Dier
Kyle Walker will be keen to face his former club, but the England international is likely to be rested, with Dier, who played at centre-half on Saturday, poised to take his place.
CB: Younes Kaboul
Captain Kaboul is available again, after missing the weekend’s 2-1 win over Sunderland with an illness.
CB: Jan Vertonghen
While Pochettino will want to rest some players, Vertonghen is just too important to drop. Federico Fazio is still ill.
LB: Ben Davies
Davies and Danny Rose have shared Tottenham’s left-back responsibilities this season. Rose is the main man in the Premier League at the moment, so tonight should see Davies on duty.
