Newcastle transfer news
The Italy international came through the ranks at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with Jose Mourinho handing him an intimidating UEFA Champions League debut against Manchester United in 2009. His direct opponent in that match was one Cristiano Ronaldo, and he acquitted himself exceptionally well, earning praise from the Portugal forward.
Santon hasn’t reached those heights again since, with injury and competition for places making things difficult in Newcastle, but he will welcome the chance to resurrect his career at San Siro.
The Internazionale switch will be a loan until the end of the season, when there will be an obligation to buy.
Santon took to Facebook to thank Newcastle fans for their support.
