It is being reported that Milan are ready to offer the former Roma front man £2 million per year to try and take them back to the upper echelons of the league table.

There is some amount of uncertainty over the deal in the Italian media, however. According to La Repubblica, Montella could reject Milan’s approach, preferring instead to continue his growth with his current side. On the other hand, respected Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni told Canale 21 that “It appears to me that Montella already has a deal with Milan.”

La Viola are in fifth place in Serie A, three points behind Napoli who occupy the third and final Champions League spot.

Montella scored 84 goals in 192 games during a ten year spell with Roma. He also won 20 caps for Italy, scoring three times.
