Rodriguez has been 0ne of Wolfsburg’s star performers in an impressive season which has seen the the German club as Bayern Munich’s closest competitors for the Bundesliga title. The 22-year-old has even chipped in with six goals, including a stunning free kick against Everton in September.
The player’s agent has revealed that the Wolves intent to keep hold of Rodriguez despite the interest from Louis van Gaal.
In an interview with Gazetto dello Sport he said, “I can say that United have called for information, but that Wolfsburg do not want to give in. With Real there was nothing official.”
The full-back had been linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer, though van Gaal decided to move for Southampton defender Luke Shaw instead – who has had a steady yet unspectacular start to his Manchester United career this season. If the Red Devils do decide to sign Rodriguez, it would provide Shaw with some competition for a place in the side.
