Argentine giants River Plate are on the verge of a humiliating early exit from the 2015 Copa Libertadores after a 1-1 drew with Peruvian minnows Juan Aurich last night left them with just two points from three games.

They went into the competition as one of the favourites for the title after winning the Copa Sudamericana (South America’s version of the Europa League) last season.

Yet a shock 2-0 loss to San Jose in their opener, followed by draws with Tigres and Juan Aurich have left them well off the pace in group six.
