Croatia remain on course to advance to the European Championships after they comfortably overcame Norway in Zagreb.

The Eastern Europeans end the weekend at the top of Group H and are yet to lose a match during the qualifying programme.

Partly, this is due to Subasic, who has transferred his fine Ligue 1 form to the national-team area where he provides a firm platform for Niko Kovac’s side.

It also helps to have Luka Modric, and the Real Madrid man was in superb form against Norway, dictating play in the midfield.

Marcelo Brozovic opened the scoring for Croatia on 30 minutes, but the deluge truly got started in the second half, where, despite losing Vedran Corluka to a second yellow card, they managed to score four more.

Ivan Perisic, Ivica Olic, Gordon Schildenfeld and Danijel Pranjic all found the net for the home side, while Tarik Elyounoussi missed a penalty for the visitors—hitting the woodwork. Alex Tettey’s 81st-minute effort was little more than a consolation goal.

Stade Rennais midfielder Anders Konradsen was an unused substitute for the Norwegians.
