Chelsea are also interested in the England international according to the paper, and the Blues will surely also be looking in to signing him if a new contract with the Saints isn’t agreed.  The right-back’s current deal with the South Coast club ends after next season, and if he doesn’t sign anything soon they may look to sell in order to get some kind of return on the defender.

If they do, then former manager Mauricio Pochettino may come calling. Now Spurs boss, the Argentine was a major part of Clyne coming to prominence in the Premier League during the last campaign. The head of recruitment at White Hart Lane, Paul Mitchell, also used to be at St. Mary’s. They will have a fight to get the 24-year-old from under the noses of the Premier League giants though.

The North London club are also interested in taking Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton, and Toby Alderweireld, who is on loan at the Saints from Atletico Madrid. Ronald Koeman’s side surely won’t be happy with two former employees returning to take their prize assets.
