Mail Online have revealed the 24-year-old will be allowed to speak with other clubs if a bid of £32.5million arrives for the in-form centre-forward and his manager admits there is little the club can do in regards to the situation:

“There’s a buy-out clause in his contract so it will be impossible for us to stop him if he wants to go.” Sherwood admitted.

“Someone’s got to meet that buy-out clause and if they don’t it won’t be considered because we don’t want to lose him.” he added.

Benteke has been transformed since the turn of the year and has found the back of the net 12 times in 14 games since Sherwood’s arrival at the club in February.

It was his goal that started Villa’s FA Cup semi-final comeback victory against Liverpool last month and will lead the attack in the final against Arsenal on Saturday evening at Wembley.

The Belgian has registered three goals in five apperances against the Gunners and Vila supporters will be hoping he can increase that tally to fire the side to glory if it proves to be his last game for the Midlands outfit.
