Arsenal star Emiliano Martinez is set to join Getafe on loan as a deal for Chelsea ace Petr Cech moves closer, reports the Daily Star.
With David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny already at the Emirates, the 22-year-old is temporarily leaving in order to make room for the Stamford Bridge hero. The Blues are willing to sell the goalkeeper as he has grown frustrated at a lack of opportunities with Thibaut Courtois established as the club’s number-one choice stopper.
Martinez played four games in the Premier League last season when the Gunners were in the midst of keeping crisis. He impressed in those games but lost his place when Szczesny and Ospina were fit again.
A year of regular games in La Liga could be just what he needs before coming back to fight for a place in the starting XI under Arsene Wenger.
While the youngster has previously been out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham, this latest move may well be his toughest test yet.
