St James’ Park side set to bring in Anderlecht pair.
Newcastle United are close to completing a £20m deal to sign Anderlecht pair Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba according to the Guardian.
Magpies boss Steve McClaren has received the backing of owner Mike Ashley to make significant moves in the summer transfer market and the St James’ Park side have already welcomed in impressive Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum.
Serbian striker Mitrovic is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football, the 20-year-old bagging 28 goals in all competitions last season, and will offer McClaren some much needed quality in the final third.
Chancel Mbemba will offer Newcastle United a fresh full-back option, perhaps with a view to replacing Davide Santon, who left to join Inter Milan earlier this summer.
