New Liverpool signing Christian Benteke marked his debut for the club with a sensational goal in their final pre-season friendly against League One side Swindon Town.
The Belgian joined the Merseyside outfit from Premier League rivals Aston Villa for £32.5million earlier in the summer and opened his account in the early stages of the second half at the County Ground with a brilliant volley from 20 yards to give the Reds a 1-0 lead.
Benteke took to social media after the game to thank the fans for such a warm welcome and also looked ahead to the start of the 2015-16 Premier League season.
Always nice to start with a win and a goal looking forward to the season thank you for your welcome???? #YNWA

Much is expected of the 24-year-old this year given Liverpool’s struggles in front of goal last season and they have turned to a striker that found the back of the net 42 times in 89 league games for Villa during his three-year spell with the Midlands outfit.
Benteke is likely to lead the line for the Reds when they begin their campaign with a tough visit to the Britannia Stadium next Sunday and will be hoping to help his new club avenge their humiliating 6-1 defeat by Stoke City on the final day of last season.
