Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he is interested in bringing two new players to the club to their official website.

With David De Gea edging towards a move to Real Madrid – the 24-year-old isn’t playing against Tottenham due to the rumours [Daily Mail] – a new goalkeeper is needed by the Red Devils. Moreover, they need more creativity in the final third after failing to break down teams who sat deep last season.

To fulfil the latter need, United could complete a signing for Barcelona star Pedro. They have already agreed a £22.3 million fee for the 27-year-old, but may have to wait until after the UEFA Super Cup to get their man [Daily Star]. The Blaugrana want the forward to take part in the game as Lionel Messi and Neymar may be fatigued after playing in the Copa America.

Pedro could be a great replacement for Angel Di Maria, who recently left for PSG. Able to play on either wing, the Spain international managed six goals and six assists in 35 games last season, although 20 of those appearances were from the bench.
