Tottenham transfer target told he MUST force through move to White Hart Lane

Saido Berahino has been told by West Brom that he must hand in a transfer request in order to push through a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham, Mirror Sport reports.

The North London outfit are in the transfer market for a new striker after cashing in on club-record signing Roberto Soldado, who returned to Spain and signed for Liga BBVA outfit Villarreal earlier in the week.

Their main transfer target appears to be Berahino and they have already had an £18million bid for the 22-year-old rejected by the Baggies, but Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign the England U21 international before the transfer window closes next month.

It’s understood that the player wants a move to White Hart Lane and has been told by his club that he must make his intentions clear if they are to let him leave the Hawthorns this summer.

The two teams could reach an agreement over a potential swap deal involving Spurs defender Federico Fazio, who is attracting interest from the Baggies and his £5million valuation could drive down the asking price for Berahino.
