3. No Stones transfer request
The Sun claimed that Everton defender John Stones – who has been linked with Chelsea and United – was ready to hand in a transfer request to force a Goodison Park exit.
Roberto Martinez, the Toffees manager, has denied any such report.
Asked if there had been a transfer request from Stones: “No, not at all,” Martinez was quoted by Sky Sports as saying.
“The only focus is on Man City on Sunday. I have no problems picking John for that game.
“I think the situation is going to be exactly the same. This has been the hot topic of this transfer window and I believe it will be a subject that is highlighted every day of this window.”
