Bizarre! Chelsea midfield flop compared with Juventus legend Andrea Pirlo

Strange comparison by club chief…

Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado has been compared with Andrea Pirlo by Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

The Blues flop has been loaned out to the Turin outfit for the duration of the 2015/16 season after failing to command a regular place in Jose Mourinho’s side.

Marotta feels that, like players such as Pirlo and Carlos Tevez before him, Cuadrado can revive his career after completing the move to Turin this summer.

Marotta is quoted in the London Evening Standard as saying: “I do see comparisons between the arrival of Cuadrado and those of Tevez and Andrea Pirlo, as they too were signed amid scepticism and did great things.”
