Liverpool could face surprise competition to appoint Jurgen Klopp as their new manager, with Bayern Munich also interested in him as a potential replacement for Pep Guardiola.

The Bavarian giants are unsure whether or not the Spanish tactician will commit his future to the club, with his current contract set to expire at the end of this season and no sign yet of a renewal.

Klopp’s fine work during his time with Borussia Dortmund has earned him a big reputation in Germany and indeed the rest of Europe, and claim he may be holding out for an offer from the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are also considering moves for former Chelsea bosses Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Di Matteo after sacking Brendan Rodgers this weekend.
