Chelsea eye shock signing of ex-Manchester United star to solve problem position this January

Chelsea could make a shock move to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker and former Manchester United man Javier Hernandez to boost their options up front this January.

The Blues are enduring a nightmare season so far, with seven defeats in the league putting them just above the relegation zone at the moment.

With players like Diego Costa and Eden Hazard not hitting the heights they did last term, Jose Mourinho could now turn to Hernandez after his revival in German football.

The Mexican international has 12 goals in 19 games this term, and the Daily Mirror claim he is now on Chelsea’s radar as something of an emergency signing this winter.
