Chelsea transfer news: Serie A side reject £14m bid for teenage starlet

Chelsea and Manchester City have reportedly seen bids of £14.5m rejected by Bologna for midfield ace Amadou Diawara.

The 18-year-old has made an impressive start to life in Serie A, and in turn that has attracted interest from around Europe, including from the Premier League duo.

However, as reported by Corriere di Bologna, the Guinea youngster has seen bids from Chelsea and City rejected by his club, as Bologna continue to try and convince him to sign a new long-term deal.

Whether that is with a view of him staying at the club for the foreseeable future or to put themselves in a stronger position in the summer when selling, remains to be seen, while it also suggested that they believe that the youngster’s valuation will soar to £36m in a year’s time.

Naturally, that is a big expectation from the club’s perspective, but it is clear that survival is their main focus this season as they continue to try and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

The Rossoblu sit in 15th place in the standings having collected 16 points from 15 games so far this season, and that keeps them just two points above the bottom three.
