West Bromwich Albion midfielder James McClean has launched a spectacular attack on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp by labelling him ‘a bit of an idiot’, according to the Daily Mirror.
Klopp confused onlookers following his side’s 2-2 draw with the Baggies earlier this week when he launched a frenzied celebration in front of the Kop, but then refused to shake hands with Albion chief Tony Pulis before criticising the club’s style of play.
And this was something that didn’t go down to well with Republic of Ireland international McClean, who said: “Obviously I have got respect for the man because he did a great job at Dortmund and that.
“But I think he is a bit of an idiot if I am being honest.
“On the game on Sunday you can’t act that way. Win, lose or draw you have got to be respectful.”
Klopp explained his decision not to shake Pulis’ hand by stating: “We had some words in the game and sometimes it takes more than a few seconds to cool down.
“Usually I shake hands. It was not a friendly game.”
