Liverpool recall 18-year-old forward from Championship loan ahead of FA Cup tie with Exeter

Liverpool have confirmed the recall of Sheyi Ojo from his loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 18-year-old winger scored three goals and supplied four assists in 19 appearances for the Championship club after joining them on a temporary basis back in August.

The England U19 international has yet to make his senior debut for Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp may be planning on using him in his first team because of the current injury crisis at Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi were already sidelined prior to Philippe Coutinho picking up a hamstring injury which will rule him out until February, according to BBC Sport.

Ojo was taken on the summer tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia by former manager Brendan Rodgers and also scored the winner in a pre-season friendly at Swindon Town.

It seems that Klopp now wants to take a look at the teenager, who signed a new long-term contract with the Reds before moving to Wolves, with the view of using him in the coming weeks.

Friday’s FA Cup third-round trip to League Two Exeter City could be the perfect opportunity for Klopp to introduce Ojo into his squad ahead of big games against Arsenal and Manchester United.
